Eligibility For A Working Holiday Visa

There are certain criteria that must be met in order to be eligible to apply for a working holiday visa to Australia.

Please note ALL the following are required to support an application for a working holiday to Australia:

• you must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years (inclusive);
• you have a passport from one of the eligible countries listed below;
• your passport should be valid for a minimum of 6 months from your intended date of return. This is important as WHV are electronic and are tied to your current passport details;
• at the time of travel should be in possession of either a return ticket to your home country and sufficient funds to prove you are able to purchase a ticket and support yourself upon arrival in Australia; (A$5000 is regarded as sufficient and can be evidenced by a certified copy of your bank statement at the time of travel);
• this visa does not include any family members, if a family member or partner wants to come with you to Australia, they must apply for their own visa. You cannot apply for this visa if you have dependent children;
• you must be outside Australia when the visa is granted
• have not entered Australia on a working holiday before
• be applying no more than 12 months before you intend to travel to Australia
• you must be of good character; applicants with criminal convictions are treated on a case-by-case basis
• you agree to abide by the conditions of the visa
