Australia Zoo, which the world famous Crocodile Hunter and his wife Terri ran together until his tragic death last year, will now feature a safari experience after the Queensland Government agreed to hand over some land to help the zoo grow.
The safari experience, which is intended to include a wide range of wildlife from different parts of the world, is understood to have been a dream that both Steve and Terri shared together and the expansion plans will boost Australia Zoo, located north of Brisbane, as a top
Australian holiday destination.
'There are a number of processes which Australia Zoo must implement to realise its dream but the agreement on forestry land which it has reached with the government brings expansion one step closer,' a spokeswoman for the zoo told the Australian Associated Press.
Terri Irwin still maintains hands on management of the zoo and since Steve's death Australia Zoo has become well known globally.
