After more than 75,000 words, 2000 photos and 47 video diaries as well as a host of public appearances including Oprah, the Best Job in the World blogger Ben Southall is winding down for Christmas.
The energetic Englishman, who travelled to more than 90 Queensland destinations in six-months, won’t be going home anytime soon however.
The Queensland Government has been so happy with his work promoting Queensland as a tourism destination that they have created a special role for him as a global tourism ambassador and a six-figure salary to match.
During the last six months, Ben Southall has blogged his Australian adventures on the Best Job in the World website and developed a loyal following reading about Queensland’s islands, wildlife, and easy lifestyle and watching his zany videos.
Tourism Queensland believes he has created publicity that just cannot be bought and put Queensland into the minds of overseas travellers.
To follow in Ben’s footsteps and travel to Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef or its many islands, all overseas visitors to Australia, unless they have a New Zealand or Australian passport, must have an
Australian Travel Visa.
The most popular is the
ETA Visa, which can be applied for online and approved almost instantly.
